I am pleased to announce that I have just been confirmed to the Board of Science and Policy Advisors at the American Council on Science and Health.
Although ACSH is not an advocacy organization, this platform offers an opportunity to write and speak on US government and State policies for the treatment of chronic pain in all of its dimensions.
I have already had three articles and an interview published in this venue. Building on that background, I was able to get two further and much more fundamental articles published in the Journal of Medicine of the National College of Physicians. And I will give a short commentary next week at an FDA conference on physician education in the safe prescription of opioid analgesics. I’ll provide an after-action report to the 30 FB groups which I support, when we’re back from travel.
In all of this, “it’s not about me”. As I’ve often remarked, “you can get almost anything done if you don’t care who takes the credit.” Many of [my friends] have supported the work I do on their and others’ behalf, by alerting me to articles and papers on chronic pain and particularly on the so-called (mostly bogus) “opioid crisis” in America.
